CONTRACT NEGOTIATION AND MANAGEMENT:

Drafting, reviewing and negotiating various contracts such as player contracts, sponsorship agreements, broadcast rights deals and venue rental agreements.

RISK MANAGEMENT:

Identifying legal risks that the franchise may face and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks. This includes assessing potential liabilities related to player injuries, contractual disputes, and other legal issues.

INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROTECTION:

Protecting the franchise’s intellectual property rights, including trademark, logos, copyrights, and taking action against infringement when necessary.

PLAYER RELATIONS:

Advising the franchise on matters related to player discipline, grievances, and disputes, and representing the franchise in negotiations with players and their agents.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION:

Handling disputes and legal proceedings involving the franchise, including litigation, arbitration, and mediation.

COMPLIANCE WITH LEAGUE RULES:

Ensuring that the franchise complies with the rules and regulations of the relevant sports league, including salary cap regulations, draft rules, and disciplinary procedures.

RISK ASSESSMENT:

Identifying potential legal risks and liabilities that could impact the franchise’s operations and ensuring compliance with ethical guidelines set forth by relevant professional associations or governing bodies.

LEGAL REPRESENTATION:

Providing legal advice and representation to athletes in various legal matters, including contract negotiations, endorsement deals, and disputes with teams, leagues, or other parties.

Negotiating athlete contracts with teams, sponsors, and other entities, and reviewing contractual terms to ensure they protect the athlete’s interests. Protecting Rights: Advocating for and protecting the legal rights of athletes in matters such as intellectual property rights, image rights, and privacy rights.

NAME, IMAGE, LIKENESS (NIL):

Providing legal advice and representation to individuals, including athletes, entertainers, influencers, and other public figures, regarding their NIL rights. Ensuring that clients comply with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards governing the use of name, image, and likeness rights, including NCAA regulations, state NIL laws, and federal statutes such as the Lanham Act and the Right of Publicity. Negotiating and drafting contracts related to the commercial use of a client’s name, image, or likeness, including endorsement deals, sponsorship agreements, licensing agreements, and appearances. Developing strategies to monetize a client’s name, image, and likeness rights effectively while maximizing revenue and minimizing legal risks. Educating clients about their rights and responsibilities regarding name, image, and likeness, and advocating for their interests in negotiations and legal proceedings.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION:

Representing athletes in disputes with teams, leagues, sponsors, or other parties, whether through negotiation, mediation, arbitration, or litigation.

RISK MANAGEMENT:

Advising athletes on potential legal risks and liabilities associated with their professional careers, including issues such as injury, contract disputes, and disciplinary actions. Financial Planning and Management: Collaborating with financial advisors and other professionals to help athletes manage their finances, including budgeting, investing, and estate planning.

COMPLIANCE:

Ensuring that athletes comply with relevant laws, regulations, and league rules governing their conduct both on and off the field.

ENTITY CREATION:

Forming athlete’s Limited Liability Company “LLC”, Not-For Profit “501(c)(3) and foundation, charity or educational entities to ensure their legal and financial success. Negotiating and drafting contracts related to the commercial use of a client’s name, image, or likeness, including endorsement deals, sponsorship agreements, licensing agreements, and appearances.
